Why I Believe The PowerMBA will Take My Business and Career To The Next Level

I don’t have a lot of spare time.

As a business owner, husband, and father, I need to be as efficient as possible with my day to day operations.

With NO ROOM FOR ERROR.

Every day, I need to find the perfect balance between prospecting, sales, fulfillment, client relations, content creation, and of course, staying up to date with the most innovative technology and methods in my industry, as well as in business.

I am ALWAYS looking for a competitive advantage to broaden my horizons to better myself, my business, and my family’s future.

So two years ago, I did what most business owners would think to do: I enrolled in an MBA at a local university. I wanted to get ahead, and this was the way to do it….or so I thought.

It was an eye-opening experience.

  • I found myself in classes taught by professors with little real-world experience
  • The classes were not available online if I was unable to make it
  • When I did attend class, I spent most of the 2–3 hour class answering work emails

I knew there had to be a better way — so I dropped out.

So over the last 18 months, I spent tens of thousands of dollars on multiple masterminds and courses run by people who are “doing it” now, some even without degrees or even a high school diploma. Their expertise was based on real-life experience and their programs were measured by the practical tools their students learned and how it positively affected their success.

I knew that if Google was making the move from degrees to courses, I should too.

Enter The Power MBA

I have a confession to make.

Three months ago, I clicked on a Facebook Ad.

GASP!

Yes, I know some of you will judge me and stop reading, but you also click on Facebook Ads sometimes. I promise.

Especially when the ad speaks to your needs, wants, and most importantly, concerns.

This one specific ad caused me to stop scrolling and click. I even took a screenshot!

I had no idea what The PowerMBA was, but what I did know is that It spoke to the THREE most important criteria I use when choosing which course to buy.

Will it grow my business network in Israel and abroad?

40,000 students around the world? Did I read that right? That means I can theoretically grow my network (and my business’s reach) just by signing up and joining the networking groups. EVERY single course I have signed up has paid for itself by either my finding of a client in the student group or through acquiring a client from a referral by a fellow student. In addition, these networking groups are exponentially more valuable than the actual course, which is the initial reason to sign up. So this was a big one for me. I guess that’s why they highlighted it in green.

Are the courses taught by real-life current business leaders and not career academics?

After looking at the list of founders and execs the PowerMBA has on their faculty, I set out a goal to take one gem from each one. If I can internalize just one thing from each of these founders, I will be thrilled. The chance to learn from these giants in an organized and structured fashion does not come around every day.

Is the infrastructure of the course built for people who do not have ANY time to waste?

All I needed to commit was 15 minutes. A day. That is it. Over a cup of coffee, a morning job, a quick drive to the supermarket, 15 minutes was doable. Not only do I not have more time to spare, I feel like my short attention span would not let me focus for more than 15 minutes in any case! ! I felt like The PowerMBA was made for people like me.

So obviously, I clicked through, learned a bit more about what the PowerMBA was all about, and checked out the free course.

Uri Levine, the co-founder of Waze, was breaking down how he developed Waze’s business model (which Google bought for $1.5 Billion), from how the idea was born (he hated traffic jams, so he decided to do something about it) to how he leveraged crowdsourcing and community to offer the app for free and totally disrupt the market.

It was awesome.

I was sold.

So here I am, a few months later, at the beginning of my PowerMBA journey.

I want to document this process in order to help others on their search for knowledge, whether it’s through this program or the tens of other masterminds/courses I have joined.

I have to say, I am excited to learn. At my pace. From giants.
